Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick was the daughter of Janice
Cooke, an accountant, as well as William Kendrick (a teacher). Michael Cooke
Kendrick is her older brother and was also an actor. She is of English, Irish,
and Scottish descent.For her role in the show "Dinah" in "High
Society" on Broadway, Anna Kendrick was nominated for the Tony Award
(second youngest ever) as well as an award from the Drama Desk Award, and an
award called a Fany Award (best actress featured in the musical). Her amazing
performance won her Theatre World Award and Drama League Award. She was also
part of Cabaret’s Kit Kat Club at "Carnegie Hall Live", in Great
Performances, My Favorite Broadway The Leading Ladies (1999). (TV). She also
had the opportunity of working with the director Scott Ellis and choreographer
Susan Stroman at the New York City Opera House with Jeremy Irons amongst many
more celebrities, and played the part of "Fredrika" in "A Little
Night Music".Anna worked on "Jane Eyre" & "The
Little Princess" for Broadway and starred in the feature film Camp (2003)
with director Todd Graff.Was nominated for the 1998 Broadway Tony Award as Best
Actress (Featured Role Musical) for her role in the musical "High
Society." She was the second youngest nominee in Tony history (after 1991's
Tony winner, Daisy Eagan). In Tony the past, George Clooney made fun of her
while she worked with Scott Ellis and Susan Stroman at the New York Opera
House. Anna was the lead in Camp (2003) and was nominated for the 1998 Tony
Award for the Best Actress (Featured Role Musical) for the musical "High
Society." In 2010 she was nominated between the second and third episodes
of the series. In September 2013, she has the distinct honor of being in three
major screen musicals : Into the Woods (2014).
