Rachel Anne McAdams was born on 17
November 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada Rachel Anne McAdams was the daughter
of Sandra Kay (Gale), Nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams who is truck driver
and furniture mover. Rachel is of English, Welsh, Irish, and Scottish heritage.
Rachel began acting as an teen. At the age of 13, she was participating in
Shakespearean performances at summer theater camp. After graduation, Rachel
received a BFA degree from York University in Theater. After appearing in the
Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson episode (1998) in which she was a lead in
Slings and Arrows, a Canadian comedy-drama which follows the struggles and
triumphs of the Slings and Arrows Shakespearean theatre group. In 2003, she was
awarded the Gemini award. The role of Regina George, in Mean Girls (2004)
instantly became a top-rated actress on Hollywood's most sought-after young
actors. The film was followed by an acclaimed performance alongside Ryan
Gosling in the adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks bestseller The Notebook (2004)
which was a surprising box office popularity and was the most watched romantic
drama for the new young audience of film lovers. McAdams and Gosling became
lovers during filming and continued to date up to the middle of 2007. McAdams
and Gosling soon were engaged and began to date. Starring roles in the war
drama The Lucky Ones (2007) and the thriller about newspapers State of Play
(2009) and the romantic The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) was followed by her
role alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Guy Ritchie's international
blockbuster Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the shrewd producer of a
failing morning show on TV in Morning Glory (2010), the sexy fiancee of Owen
Wilson in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris (2011) Then she returned to romantic
dramas with the cult film The Vow (2012) opposite Channing Tatum. McAdams also
starred alongside Ben Affleck in Terrence Malick's To the Wonder (2012) as well
as alongside Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma's thriller Passion (2012).In 2005,
McAdams received ShoWest's "Supporting Actress of the Year" Award and
the "Breakthrough Actress of the Year" at the Hollywood Film Awards
