Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris, France, to British parents, Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson both lawyers. When she was five years old, she moved to Oxfordshire where she attended Dragon School. Emma was aware from the age of she was six that was going to be an actor. Over the course of several years, she was a student at the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch which was where she learned dance, singing, acting and much more. She was a stagecoach actress and played the role of lead in various Stagecoach productions. In 1999, casting started for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) which was the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by casting agents through her Oxford theatre instructor. After eight consecutive auditions, David Heyman revealed to Emma and Rupert Grint (other applicants), that they had been selected to play Hermione Gringer, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance on the screen was when the film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film broke records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and was the top-grossing movie of 2001. The film's performance and that of its three stars were highly praised by reviewers. The highly distributed British newspaper, 'The Daily Telegraph' was awed by her performance and called it "admirable". Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as Leading Young Actress in the Film Film as well as being nominated for five prizes. Emma was among the most well-known actresses following the success of the film. For a total of ten years, she played the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Emma acquired two Critics Choice Award nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her performance in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
